Meet Baby Benjamin, a miracle-baby that God sent at exactly the right time on January 16, 2020. For parents Rachel and Jacob, he’s everything they had prayed for and more! Benjamin’s mom and dad came to me as a recommendation from another beloved client, and I’m SO glad they chose me to photograph their story.
Although my clients gave me creative control for the shoot, there was a great synergy among us. This excellent cooperative visioning isn’t surprising: Rachel is a teacher and Jacob is an engineer with an artist’s heart. From the very first meeting, Rachel told me about how Ben’s soon-to-be-room was “Beatrix Potter” themed. She described how Jacob had even created custom watercolor paintings to adorn its walls!
They knew they wanted coordinating canvases and prints, both for the nursery, and to give to family. My creative wheels started turning, and I knew exactly the direction to go with regard to location, sets, and props. I suggested a timeless color palette, and we were all thrilled with the results that captured the quiet charm of a rural English homestead.
It was a pleasure to photograph such a wonderful family, and I’m looking forward to capturing his entire first-year milestones.
