Sometimes having grandchildren spurs a wistful nostalgia for the early days of parenting… one pauses to ask: what’s the same, what has changed, and what might I have done differently? In the past, one thing that “wasn’t a thing” was knowing how wonderful it is to invest in high-quality professional family portraits. There were school photos and the DIY excitement of Polaroids or dropping off roll after roll of 35mm film, so it didn’t always occur to us to explore further. But that is exactly what Patti mentioned when she contacted us- she didn’t do much more than a few chain studio shoots for her son, and didn’t want to pass up the opportunity for more with her grandbaby. She decided to seize the day and get a family session of her grown-up son, his partner Joanne, and their child Lacey.
We couldn’t have asked for better weather or a more gorgeous sunset. Lacey was in a wonderful mood (because 3, amiright?) and was all smiles the whole session. Patti even jumped in some of the photos, and we were able to capture SO many special moments full of love and personality. I am so grateful they chose us to trust with their future memories.
