I’ve known Bri’s parents for about ten years now, back when Matt (Dad) and Leann (Bonus Mom), my husband, and me were all working down at the fishing boats in Galveston. So much has changed since then- we’ve each since fallen in love with our respective partners, gotten married, had babies, and now Matt’s little girl is about to graduate!
I have to say, when I met Bri for her session, it was pretty cool to see what a great girl they’ve raised. And it’s clear they see it, too. Their pride comes shining through when they talk about her. They especially admire what a hard worker she is, and how she’s both laid back and extremely helpful with her siblings.
In school, she’s actively involved in career-prep classes that she hopes will accelerate her goal of becoming a nurse. I think her laid back energy and sweet, kind spirit will lend itself well to such a high-pressure career!
Someday, Bri will have a great bedside manner and treat all ages of human patients. But if for some reason that doesn't work out, I can totally see the veterinary field being a great back up plan. When it comes to animals, her whole demeanor changes and you can see how much she adores them. That being said, while she loves all animals, someone is definitely “top dog” and will always get preferential treatment… like an honored feature in the senior pics. Meet Gracie, Bri’s canine ride-or-die.
These pictures and others will be a treasure for years to come. I can imagine her moving her sleek metal print from wall to wall as she leaves the nest and moves through dorms and apartments of her own (they chose to print it as a collage and it is pretty sweet if I do say so myself). And while she’ll be able to see those photos every time she passes them in the hall, I bet she’ll occasionally still thumb through her wooden memory box (you know, the one with ALL of her images) in 2030, and then again in 2040.
