Americo the Talented

As you know, photography is my passion. But truly, my art goes to another level when it can capture the passions and talents of my subjects. Visual and musical art are a perfect pair, and I’m pretty sure I love every shot of Americo with his trumpet.

I don’t edit black and white portraits often (I think most people come to me for my color work, after all), but it doesn’t mean I don’t adore a good one when the scene calls for it. So when Americo’s dad pulled up in their classic VW bug, it was the best surprise and the perfect opportunity to flex those vintage-style muscles! The timeless VW and a shiny horn made black-and-white a great fit.

Thanks to Mom, Stephanie, for catching me in action! To get the looks and angles I wanted, I did have to do some photog-yoga. However, this young man’s city-chic poise and style made every shot exciting to compose.

Americo’s parents chose a framed BW photo and an understated album as their products-of-choice from this session. I hope they enjoy them for many, many years, and I’m wishing Americo the best as he pursues a career in music. I’ve heard him sing and play, and y’all- he’s going places!
